| The Terms of Reference of the Committee are:
To study and assess public policies in the areas of education,
training, scientific research and technological development related to integrating
women in development, and submitting proposals and recommendations in this
respect.
To propose and organize symposia and training sessions
for raising the awareness of society with regard to the importance of women's
role, within the Committee's scope of work.
To examine and study issues referred to it by NCW President

Activities of the Committee :
The activities of the Education, Training & Scientific Research
Committee during 2007 included:
Organizing a hearing session on the
policies and measures taken to confront the challenges of illiteracy.
Reporting its views on a study made by NCW to analyze and
check school text books for any negative cultural stereotypes about women.
Submitting a report on activating the effectiveness of
training as a means to maximize women's opportunities in the labor market.
Organizing a symposium in collaboration with the National
Committee for Women in Science & Technology entitled "The Reasons why Girls
Refrain from Joining Scientific Specializations".
