The External Relations Committee

 

 

The Terms of Reference of the External Relations Committee are:

  • To study the international conventions and agreements related to women.

  • To express opinion on any convention or agreement related to women to be concluded in the future.

  • To propose ways and scopes for promoting relations with NCW peer organizations abroad, and to follow up on international fora and conferences related to women.

  • To examine and study issues referred to it by NCW President.

    Activities of the Committee:

    The activities of the External Relations Committee during 2007 included:

  • Carrying out a study on gender- related international labor agreements with a view to examining to what extent our national legislations are in conformity with international commitments in this respect and report their findings to NCW General Secretariat.

  • Reporting its views and recommendations to NCW General Secretariat on how to respond to the allegedly deterioration of the human rights situation in Egypt, contained in some regional and international reports, including those issued by the US State Department.

  • Taking part in the sessions organized by the Diplomatic Studies Institute on the activities carried out by NCW to promote the status of Egyptian women.
