Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak, President of NCW, inaugurates the IT/Documentation Centre, WBDC and the Ombudsman Project |
IT/Documentation Department |
Her Excellency, Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak, President of NCW, visited the recently completed IT and Documentation Centre. Located on the 4th floor of the NCW premises, the Centre consists of an IT department, complete with state-of-the art equipment, a computer lab, a GIS unit and a specialized library, with access to internet. The Centre aims at becoming a comprehensive resource for data and information on women. |
The First Lady has cut the ribbon of the WBDC (Women Business Development Centre) to announce its official inauguration. WBDC is a one-stop-shop facility, where fresh graduates and young women entrepreneurs can have access to counseling, training and information on how to start and operate a business. This centre will initially serve the Greater Cairo area and will hopefully be replicated throughout Egypt. |

OMBUDSMAN project |
The official inauguration of the OMBUDSMAN project. This project was born from a demand driven phenomenon, immediately following the creation of NCW, when scores of women started contacting NCW seeking help and solutions to their problems. The OMBUDSMAN project staff now handle issues of discrimination against women with the various government institutions concerned. The OMBUDSMAN has a branch in Aswan. |
