Equal Opportunity Focal Points in Ministries

Egyptian women enjoy equal legal and constitutional rights as men in all aspects of life. However, practical reality has led the National Council for Women to initiate a programme that aims at ensuring the adherence to the principles of the Constitution. The goal of this programme is to establish mechanisms to monitor the implementation of the principle of equal access to opportunities within the constitutional bodies, under the direct supervision of the Cabinet of Ministers.

These "Equal Opportunity watch" mechanisms in the different ministries shall be in permanent contact with all the programmes of the Council, including the "Ombudsman".
