The mandate of the Council stipulates that
it shall establish a Documentation and Information Centre
for the following:

Collect, categorize, analyze and record data, statistics,
research, books and findings of national, regional and international
conferences on women
Establish a Database
on women issues and networks with knowledge and research
institutions for information sharing.
Act as a Hub for
NCW branches in the Govenorates for updating, sharing,
and retrieving information.
Establish an archiving
system which will become the institutional memory of
NCW.
It shall include a
unit for computer training
and utilization of advanced communication
and information technology, including multimedia. In
addition, the Centre shall supervise
the website of the Council and regularly update it
in order to become a knowledge and information reference source
for any individual or organization, locally or internationally,
concerned with the issues pertaining to Egyptian women.
The Council takes into consideration
all existing differences between the specific needs of women
in different geographic areas and the general needs of women.
Accordingly, the Centre shall gather information on specific
critical issues, such education, health, employment, political
participation, etc.. Integrate and update this information
in a Geographic Information
System(GIS).
