The Small Grants Programme
 |
|
The small- grants programme is
a pilot project, supported by UNDP, implemented through
a number of NGOs in different governorates. This program
is mainly geared towards providing economic support
to female-headed households, which are the most vulnerable
category of society. |

In the selection of its beneficiaries,
the Council has taken into consideration that different
modules need to be experimented to respond to the different
needs and the local market conditions, in order to be
able to assess the success and replicability of the
projects.
In addition, the Council has concluded
an agreement with the Ministry of Local Development
in order to benefit from the opportunities of the "Shorouk"
project addressed to female headed households at the
level of villages. A comprehensive census of all female
headed households has been undertaken with a view to
developing a national project for enhancing their status. |
