Gender Mainstreaming into the National Development Plan

As per article II of the Mandate, the Council shall prepare a draft proposal for Engendering the National Plan.

The National Council for Women has organized four round-table sessions from May to June 2001 with the purpose of mainstreaming gender in the national socio-economic development plan 2002-2007 to achieve gender balance and enhance human resources development.

Indicators have been set up to ensure that mainstreaming has been effected. Both the institutional and procedural aspects have been taken into account. Over seventy senior officials from ministries have participated in this exercise.
