The National Council for Women and CEDAW Follow-Up

Egypt is a signatory of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW). Given its mandate, the National Council for Women is actively involved in following-up and reviewing all matters related to this Convention, submitting the official periodic Egyptian reports to the United Nations and communicating with the CEDAW Committee, disseminating information and data about the Convention locally and internationally and providing training as needed. The Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women is one of the most important Conventions with regards women rights in the different countries.
