Female Heads of Households (FHH)

Empowering Female heads of households (FHH) is one of the primary concerns of NCW.

A pilot project was conducted with the aim of granting small grants to FHH.

An evaluation was conducted to assess the impact of the grants.

A larger programme to assist FHH, based on the lessons learned from the experimental project, resulted in the following:

An in-depth study on the features of FHH in the various localities of Egypt that would be useful when undertaking comparative studies at the regional and international levels

6000 FHH received grants

Projects were selected to respond to the needs of the local communities

Studies of the shortfalls have been undertaken

30 villages in various governorates have benefited from this initiative Female Heads of Households
